A Typical Visit

We would love for you and your child(ren) to participate in our developmental studies!

A typical online study involves a one-time commitment, usually no longer than 30 minutes. Some online studies are self-paced and can be completed whenever it is convenient for your family, either via the developmental study platform Lookit or an online questionnaire form. Other online studies are scheduled in advance to allow for you and your child to meet with one of our researchers via the video conferencing software Zoom. As a thank you for your participation, we will present your child with an honorary UBC degree certificate; for some studies, we send along a $5 e-giftcard too!

A typical in-person study involves a one-time visit to UBC’s Vancouver campus; in-person visits are usually about 30 minutes long. We will provide free parking next to our building, and to thank you for your participation, we will present your child with an honorary UBC degree certificate and a small gift such as a book or an item from a selection of UBC infant and baby scientist merchandise!

By signing up, you will be considered for all studies offered by the Early Development Research Group and its seven research centres.
